Diversely Exuberant Festivals celebrated around the World!!

Bonjour Mon ami!!
Welcome back to the peephole of all that is good in the world. 'Cause we are the people who find love and fun in every place we go, and then carry the vibes in our heart till the very end, 'cause these goodies are hard to forget!
And speaking of the delightful treats, their is nothing better than the festivities for the extremities of fun, love and insanity. Festival time is the perfect time to get the most out a vacation, when every city is a little more lively, the air a little more refreshing, the roads filled with a little more craziness and the hearts overflowing with a lot more love.
So, without further adieu, Leggo :-

1. Holi, India
The best, the biggest and the wildest festival in the world- HOLI. Ok, maybe I am a little biased, but holi is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant events around the world. The two days long, festival of colours, is celebrated in the month of March across the country, to commemorate the beginning of spring.
On the night of the first day, known as the Holika Dahan, a huge fire is built up and prayed to, as a symbol of victory of the good over evil. And the second day, is where the fun explodes in vibgyor colours. People of all ages gather together for the wildest Gulal-water fight along with savoury foods and the day's speciality, bhang( cannabis infused Indian drinks) that make the fun overflow out of a day's limit.

2. Oktoberfest, Munich
What was started as a simple wedding celebration for the king, has now emerged to be the largest beer festival in the world - The Oktoberfest!
The 17-18 day long festival starts in September, concluding onthe first Sunday of October. The event entices around 7 million people from all across the globe, who guzzle down a good million litre of beer!! Well that's a LOT of beer. The festival officially begins when Mayor of Munich taps open the first keg of beer, O zapft is(it's open), and concludes on the first Sunday following the German Reunification Day.

3. Dia de Muertos, Mexico
Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a two days long festivity in the honour of the dead. It is rare holiday where mourning is replaced with celebration of death in the liveliest way possible.
The families set up lavish Ofrendas (offerings) for their deceased loved ones. The alters are clad with marigolds and the favorites of the deceased. Other customs involve Calevaras skull, that are clay or sugar skulls often fanciliy decorated and painted with a smile, expressing the mockery of death.

4. Mardi Gras, New Orleans
Mardi Gras, or the Fat Tuesday is the culmination day of the 2 weeks long NOLA's Carnival that begins on the 12th day of Christmas, 6 Jan to be exact, and is the last bash and revelry befor the 40 days of fasting and abstinence - for the Lent.
The main attraction of the event are the daily parades, put together by the Krewes, the Throw up beads, Go-to cups and the streets and people, ornate in the purple green and gold, the official colours of the Carnival. One may think of the Mardi gras to be a centre of debauchery, while actually, quite unbelievably, a religious event and a family's affair.

5. La Tomatina, Spain
The world painted RED, literally this time! The La Tomatina is the largest food fight in the world that holds up to the reputation of Spanish festivals of being the craziest and wackiest of all. It enfolds on the last Wednesday of August in the Valencian city, Bunol.
This is the perfect opportunity to behold the beautiful country, wherin the crazy event has a lot more than just tomatoes. Well to be fair, the tomatoes are lot more than 'just'.
The day is also caparisoned with epic parades, fireworks and the Paella cooking contest. The fight is open to all the ticket holders, albeit they follow the simple rules- Squash before you throw, stay away from lorries, listen to the security staff and enjoy the hell out of the day!!!

Well, that was quite overwhelming. How I crave to just jump into these absolutely insane celebrations. But then, sharing this with you all is a satisfactory amount of fun to quench the cravings for now. I hope that you and me visit all these and much more ASAP. Keep your love coming and wait for more.
See ya!!
